Is that a thing I wonder, a flash blog, like flash fiction (about a paragraph, tells the whole story start to finish- actually not easier to write a very good one in fiction but maybe a flash blog will be quick enough to do).
It’s been very busy in the CALL Action Office. I know, I know, I always write that like some kind of excuse at the start of a Blog – at the start of anything. It’s true though! I’m working at one day per week at the moment for CALL. Very delighted to have the next round of “Glo Maigh Eo” philanthropic funding confirmed to continue on this one day per week basis over the next year.
Did you know it’s actually coming up to a year since I started working with CALL? Mid March 2024 I started, about a day after I had my interview. Things happened very fast. Immediately we were into the application for the first lot of LAWPRO Catchment Support Fund funding- that project was “Blue Dot to the Sea” Phase 1. We’re just waiting to hear about Phase 2.

That’s one of the things that kept me busy in late December and early January- writing the LAWPRO CSF application, which is one of the bigger ones. It’s so important to get in core funding for CALL so we can build capacity. The LAWPRO CSF significantly increases the number of days I can work with CALL. There are three or is it four other funding applications we are currently waiting to hear about. Some of these would bring core funding to other people working with CALL. This is when we really start to build up the organisation, enabling us to do the feasibility studies and take the actions which will help our locality and the planet with climate change resilience….. watch this space (please) for the next announcement. coming soon.
